Dynamic Meditation
We all had a time when we listened to a great piece of music, our body and mind shook as a new kind of vitality shower down throughout each and every cell in our body.
The best way to heal the heavy scars within each and every humans is to comfort and appease the distressed mind. There are instances where a grudge held for decades being resolved with sincere words just like how the snow melts on spring.
Babara Hand Clow, in her book ‘Hand of Light‘, stated that the origin of healing is a human instinct. For example, you instinctively move your hand to the area of pain and say ”Oh, why am I hurting here?’ When people are in pain, unconsciously without even themselves knowing, their hands touch or tap where the pain is. They themselves are looking for the location of pain, and healing themselves through touch.
These healing through dynamic meditation has been done biologically and instinctively from the ancient times. Dynamic meditation is a tradition of all ages and countries.
We have national exercise, stretching, healthy exercise, qigong or yoga of each cultural organizations can all be a form of dynamic meditation.
But the dynamic meditation of Jeungsando is not such a simple body work.
Dynamic Meditation in Jeung San Do
Dynamic meditation, in its foundation, focuses on circulation of energy within the body. As one moves one’s body one receives down the energy of the heaven, earth, sun, and moon. And also transmitting down the holy spirit of heaven,
1) I heal the disease of my body and mind,
2) gain authority of heaven and earth of the spiritual realm, and
3) gain the ability of spiritual healing.
If we look into the holy words on the Chapter 5 Section 308 of the Jeungsando Dojeon, Sangjenim revealed that ‘dynamic meditation is the practice of ju-mun’.
Ju-mun can mean mantra or suckling or prayer, there really is such a testimony. It is a practice of Praying to the Holy spirit of creation and transformation of heaven and earth, and receiving the spirit of creation and transformation.
Dynamic meditation is body movements which enables us to experience the spiritual realm and to receive the holy spirit. The breath of life of the natural spirit and the personified spirit amidst this great universe becoming one with this is cultivation.
If you touch the hand of a person that has been transmitted the spirit teaching, we know that their hand is different. There is a powerful energy indescribable with mere words.
Through the practice of the dynamic meditation we receive the grace of life where our illnesses, big and small, are cured of. Also, we experience witnessing the guardian spirits who protect us and breath the truth in us and the spiritual generals of the heaven above.
How to practice Dynamic Meditation
The cultivation of dynamic meditation must be done purely with 100% faith. During the process of dynamic meditation, if the practitioner has doubt left in his heart and is conscious of his surroundings, energy can not be opened greatly. But if anyone engages in the dynamic meditation, they’ll feel the energy coming down from the heavens. It’s possible for anyone to receive this energy.
When practicing dynamic meditation, one must take out all of one’s thoughts (from your mind) and set his/her mind to comply with the principles of nature. To cultivate the mind and receiving the energy of heaven and earth, first one must reach the state of non-self. It is a state where ‘i’ does not exist. The way to do the dynamic meditation is to get rid of thoughts of good or evil. Let go of all personal desires and become the very soul of the truth and guardian of Jeung San Do.
Do the dynamic meditation with everything you got and do not think of good or evil. Do not think what is good or wrong but let nature lead you. (An, Un San, His Holiness The Taesang Jongdosanim)
The first thing to have in mind when doing the dynamic meditation is that you must be immersed in it. It must be natural and done constantly. All meditation, in other words static meditation and meditation in motion, are going from a person’s conscious effort to a non-effort.
In the beginning you’re shaking your hand according to your will, and then giving yourself up to nature according to how your body wants.
According to the functions of the five organs and six entailments, when people have exceeding heat in your heart or feel heavy in the liver, their actions and body movements become more fierce.
This is due to their bodily conditions. (An, Gyung Jeon, His Holiness The Jongdosanim)
If you perform the dynamic meditation saying, “I’m going to shed away all the energy of illness and weakness from me and unify with the heaven and earth’s righteous energy as one, you know that the spiritual realm is coming into your inner world. You’ll know that the righteous energy of heaven and earth, the energy of spiritual realm is coming into you.
What is the purpose of practicing Dynamic Meditation
Sangjenim, after finishing the dynamic meditation practice which receives the holy spirit of creation-transformation of heaven and earth, said to the disciples you all must perform the practice of giving life.
The ultimate purpose of Jeungsando’s dynamic meditation practice is to save as many humans as possible during the time of gaebyeok.
