His Holiness the Taesang Jongdosanim granted teachings

The following is one of the first-hand experiences of Jeung San Do practitioners from the Incheon Juan dojang who participated in an intensive all-night meditation at the Taeeulgung Palace last April.

I took my seat in front of the sacred altar of the Taeeulgung Palace to begin night-long meditation with other practitioners of my dojang. I just looked toward the portrait of His Holiness the Taesang Jongdosanim, and He seemed to be living, gently smiling at me.

After 2 o’clock in the morning, I felt tired, bored and lethargic and couldn’t properly concentrate on the meditation. At that very moment I looked up at the portrait of His Holiness the Taesang Jongdosanim and heard His remarks;
He said, “Chant the Taeeulju mantra with an earnest and dedicated mind as if you are trying to save a dead man lying in front of you.” Sangjenim also cautioned me not to chant the Taeeulju mantra pretentiously, superficially, with too much dignity, or too weakly.

My fellow practitioners came in sight and they were surrounded by qi that looked like plump clouds. The clouds varied in size and shape. Once I resumed chanting the Taeeulju mantra, the plump cloud-like qi gathered around me and filled my head. Simultaneously, all distracting thoughts were eliminated and I could totally concentrate on the meditation, oblivious of who I was.

Then my vision was filled with brightness, and crystal clear light appeared before me. I could then see a house on a far-off land across the sea as if it stood right in front of me. A bowl of fresh water looked white and lucent, and the cloud-like qi kept rising from the inside of the bowl.

From then on, the fatigue that had accumulated during the night vigil went away and I felt wonderful. My whole body experienced bliss with unworldly pleasure. I would like to pay my gratitude to His Holiness the Taesang Jongdosanim, He who granted blessings allowing me to have this enjoyable all-night meditation.
